My OG team is a year away from celebrating 100 seasons!
The Blue Jays have brought back veteran CF Michael Langer in the wake of the Wyatt Lacy trade to add depth to the position. Declan Rowan was DFA'd as a result.
Bach looks to finally get some playing time at age 31, after being passed over as a back up option on the shelf for the entirety of his career.
The Anaheim Blue Jays have traded away pitcher Darrius Anglin to the New England Night Wings for former AAA Crawlie Kendall Bach.
Bruce Blaylock & Carlo Noble have subsequently been named as captains for S157.
Fans see the trade as reminiscent of the Shane Dickson deal with the Ocala Coalition in S152. Dickson has went on to win 2 World Series rings since leaving Anaheim. Lacy looks poised to make a similar name for himself with the fruits of success.
Where they might have not lost power, they lost leadership in Wyatt Lacy, who was expected to carry the torch for the team in the post-Chad Raymond era. He will now be playing in the prime of his career in Tuscaloosa.
New acquired slugger Antonio Nunez looks to potentially fit in to a pinch hitting/DH role to start the season if selected over Cedro Ponce.
At 2B the Jays are overloaded, with 8 players currently on both major & minor league rosters at that position. The logical guess is they plan to make more moves here before the season starts to flip those players for talent.
Once considered divisional pennant contenders, this trade changes that as the Jays now lack the All-Star power & skillset outside of C Bruce Blaylock.
