Ace Of The Diamond: The Story Of The Season 113 Anchorage Aces by Phoenix Diablos

Hey, babe, wake up. The greatest author in Franchise Ball history has returned (Insert smiling emoji). What's up, everyone! It is your local fan favorite World Series recapper, Phoenix Diablos, here and I am recapping a very special playoff run. If your name is Anchorage Aces, this story is for you. Everyone else...uh just sit there and hold hands, I guess lol.
The Aces began their quest for the league title against a familiar-ish foe (they are only familiar with each other through Discord. It's the green thing pretty much shouting it's name at the top), the Tampa Bay Thunderbirds. The first 2 games weren't necessarily tight games (unless you count 13-3 and 12-4 tight) then the night game came. The Thunderbirds and Aces were battling for a chance to advance to the next round where the dominant Ontario Northern Lights were patiently waiting. The Aces jumped out to an early 3-1 lead but the Thunderbirds refused to let up. They stormed (no pun intended) back to a 4-3 lead where the score remained...until the bottom of the 9th. Patricio Coronado pimped a 3 run nuke to send the Aces to round 2 and that set up an intriguing match-up between the Aces and the Northern Lights.
The Northern Lights were searching for their first league title in team history but the Aces had other plans. The offense made the Northern Lights pitching uncomfortable as the Aces pounded their way to a 9-5 beatdown. In Game 2, the game was tied 2 a piece in the bottom of the 9th and Frankie Rushing sent the Aces crowd home happy with a solo blast. The Deadly sins, who were seeking a 3-peat, awaited them.
This was a very highly anticipated Series and the results did not disappoint (unless you are the Deadly sins of course lol). The first game was a back and forth battle and it took the bottom of the 12th to decide the winner of this game. Tyshawn Guy smoked a solo bomb to put the Sins in a convincing 1-0 Series lead. Then, the Aces woke up and chose violence. Ok, let's get to the World Playoffs...SIKE! Game 2 was super simple. Marin hit a solo homer, some ghost player hit a homer to tie the game up and Cyr hit the game winning rbi double and the Aces tied up the series. Easy peasy lemon squeezy. Game 3 was all Aces. They hammered their way to a league title clinching 5-2 victory. Now, let's get to the good stuff.
The Aces faced off against the Raiders in the first round and they barely squeezed past to a 4-3 win. Then, they played the Currents and won another tight one 3-2 and for the first time in team history, the Aces were in the World Series where a shocking Riyas team made it.
This is going to go bye quickly because I feel like you guys are going to be reading a novel so 3njoy the speed run. The Aces won game 1, 4-0. The Aces won game 2, 7-5. The Riyas won game 3, 6-1. The Aces won game 4, 5-4. Just like that, the Anchorage Aces are your Season 113 World Champions. This next segment is very special. Interview time with the Champs, baby! Woo-hoo!
Diablos: What emotions were you feeling when you won the WS?
Aces: Dude, it's hard to even explain. When you play a game like this, that's the ultimate goal, right? It's cool to be a part of such an amazing list of teams and I'm very excited for the coming seasons.
Diablos: Who do you think was the MVP of the series?
Aces: Honestly, I'd have to give it to the bullpen. In the one game we lost our starter blew it, but our bullpen was so amazing it honestly saved us one or two of our wins.
Diablos: Lastly, what suggestions do you have for the teams that are aiming to be World Series contenders?
Aces: Don't give up. It took me 18 seasons to even make a World Series, but here I am. There were times when I thought I'd never make it. The key is not to get down on yourself or your team. Make a few tweaks every season and keep grinding.
Diablos: Thanks man and congratulations on being the Champs!
Aces: Thanks man. Appreciate it a lot.

There you have it. The city of Anchorage, Alaska finally has a title to put up on their resume as well as the Aces themselves. Thanks to everyone for reading and again, congratulations to the Anchorage Aces for being the Season 113 World Champions! Next week, I have a very special article planned out so stay tuned for that. And until next time, go Diablos!
