Ride the wave: The story of the Fort Lauderdale Waves

The Fort Lauderdale Waves are a brand new team in Franchise Ball and had one goal in mind: Win the World Series. It took them 6 seasons but they finally did it against a dangerous Deadly sins team. I've had the privilege to interview Waves.
Diablos: What does it feel like to win the World Series against an opponent like Deadly Sins?
Waves: Amazing. He was one of the toughest opponents I have gone up against.  His team is awesome and he has had lots of success.  He will win it all one day.
Diablos: Which player do you think stood out the most in the World Series? Meaning the biggest impact?
Waves: That is tough. Different players stood out in each game. Yi had a big game in the first one. Then Rankin in the second game. McSwain and Ison stood out pitching in the first game.
Diablos: If you could give out any pointers or advice to teams trying to make a run in the World Series, what would you say?
Waves: Know your players and how they are playing. You need to know what situations they can handle. If they are running hot or cold. I was very careful this World Series on which pitchers I put in and when. I knew certain situations where they would fail. I always tell people you have to watch how your guys are doing. Look for patterns or trends in the game. The better feel of the game you have, the better you will do.
Diablos: Do you have anything to say to Sins?
Waves: Keep doing what you are doing. 10 league championships in what 22 seasons? I can't think of anybody else who has won their league that often. You will win the world one day.
Diablos: Lastly, if there was anything you could change to make the Franchise Ball environment more entertaining, what would it be?
Waves: I have thought about that a few times but honestly Josh is doing a great job making it entertaining. Maybe some visual aspect would be fun but could get annoying after a while. Allowing us to change the DH during the game would be great.

Well, there you have it. The Fort Lauderdale Waves have won their first World Series in team history with many more to come. Join me in congratulating this phenomenal team for besting a Deadly Sins team who is still currently seeking their first. This is Phoenix Diablos signing off! Good luck to everyone for next season!
