Increased wildcard spots from 8 to 16 per league

Oct 9th 2020 By Franchise Ball

We increased the # of wildcard spots per league to 16.  After observing the records of teams within each wildcard race, we deemed that adding 8 more would be appropriate given the competitive skill of these teams and winning percentages.  Given our analysis, we believe these extra 8 teams can be just as competitive in the wildcard playoffs.

We also increased the number of subscriber wildcard spots from 30% to 40% of the available field.  We are confidant this will improve general competitiveness in Franchise Ball.  Please let us know if you have any questions, and good luck down the stretch!

No they dont. If you dont have a wc spot in your league or lead your division, you'll get a subscriber spot if you are in top 40% now (it was 30%)

Do teams in the subscriber wildcard take up spots in the regular wildcard?

extrememly small, because the world playoffs will consist of 90% league champs. also that one inactive wc team would have to win through the wc playoffs.. chances are astronomically low
