150 seasons of Franchise Ball!
On October 1st at 9 AM on the East Coast, the first pitches of Season 150 will be thrown. 150 seasons. 150 months. Over 650 weeks. Almost 400 million seconds. That's how long Franchise Ball has been around, and you all have the honor to say that you were apart of the 150th season in Franchise Ball history. We've seen numerous champions, teams come and go, but through it all, we've built a community full of random strangers who have only 1 thing in common: we love baseball. Whether you've been here since Season 1, when the Washington Axel won their first and only championship, or you joined during the dominance of the Deadly Sins with their 60-0 season in Season 111, or you're brand new, joining for Ocala Coalition and Dayton Blacksox's first championships, we thank you for being here.
A lot of you all came across this game while surfing the web. Some of you were referred to by friends. But when the first pitch of Season 1 was thrown in Franchise Ball, few could have imagined the game would still be thriving more than a decade later. Yet here we are, ready for Season 150, a milestone that speaks for itself and for the community we have built. What makes this milestone so special is not just the number 150, but the countless hours of games managed, thousands of players with unique names and different careers, and tens of thousands of franchises. In a day and age of short-lived online games, Franchise Ball stands out.
To make this season extra special, we will be having the largest and most important offseason tournament starting the offseason after Season 150. Not only will a GC prize be given to the winner, but special draft accommodations in the Discord Draft run by Cleveland Buckeyes. This won't just be your typical competitive Rhody Invitational. This will bring offseason tournaments to a new level!
Information on how this will be run will be released later on. There will be no Rhody Invitational this offseason, as we will push it back to have an even bigger one next season. To the teams that have participated in these tournaments, get ready for an extra special tournament. To the newer teams, come prepared, because we only have 1 winner.
