FranchiseBall Top 25
To enhance drama and start some major discussions, I released a Google Form asking teams to list off 5-10 teams they have the most faith in to win the World Series for Season 147, ranking them from top to bottom. The millions and millions of votes were taken, and with that, I was able to come up with a FranchiseBall Season 147 Top 25, voted by all of you, the people of FranchiseBall, and here is what you came up with:
1) St. John's Deadly Sins (10x World Champion)
2) Ocala Coalition (6x League Champion)
3) Oakland ObZen (6x World Champion)
4) St. John's Raptors (1x World Champion)
5) Anchorage Aces (1x World Champion)
6) Rochester Spoofly (3x League Champion)
7) Charlotte Magic (4x League Champion)
8) Portland Woodsmen (1x League Champion)
9) Los Angeles Lizards (2x League Champion)
10) Jamestown Rhody (11x Division Champion)
11) Mexico City Aztecs (1x World Champion)
12) Washington Diamondbucs (1x World Champion)
13) Chosen Ones (1x World Champion)
14) Detroit GC Ver Gotas (2x League Champion)
15) Caracas Snakes (1x League Champion)
16) Cincinnati Reds (2x World Champion)
17) New Orleans Hot Bods (2x World Champion)
18) Miami Stingers (10x Division Champion)
19) San Diego Bombers (5x World Champion)
20) Toronto Masters (1x League Champion)
21) Elk Grove Kandarian Demons (1x League Champion)
22) Shreveport Captains (1x World Champion)
23) Ontario Gladiators (2x League Champion)
24) Baltimore Gangsters (4x League Champion)
25) Detroit Mean Green (1x Division Champion)
Trends I noticed:
- All teams have won the league title before, except for Rhody, Stingers, and Mean Green, but Rhody and Stingers have won their division double-digit times
- Despite concerns of purging, Ontario Gladiators stays on this list
- Recency bias spikes Raptors all the way up to the 4 spot; Chosen Ones at 13
- One 50+ win team from last season sits at #2, but the other sits at #12
What are your thoughts on these rankings? Also, if you have a complaint that either you're not in there or you're too low, blame the millions of voters!
