FB Suggestions Part 2

Update on the FB Suggestions Part 1

SUGGESTION 1: Josh has this on his to-do list.
SUGGESTION 2: I was met with a “no”. He says it’s still a big advantage for subscribing. Like, yes, I understand that this is a for-profit company, but what’s the point in cutting us off in the playoffs? The subs still get 25 or 60 tokens in the playoffs, it’s not like they get less as well. We keep getting dead teams in the World Series, don’t we? Wouldn’t that be less likely to happen if active non-subs were able to use more game manager tokens than dead teams. Of all the suggestions, that’s the one that I want the most.
SUGGESTION 3: Josh said he’d do it, though he hasn’t gotten to it yet. I might need to remind him. Anyways, he supports the idea, so that’s good.
SUGGESTION 4: This is something that he likes, but it’s not high on his priority list, apparently.

Now for this time’s suggestions!

1. Draft Pick Trading And Undrafted Free Agents
Since we have trading in place already, I think it would be a lot more realistic if we could trade away draft picks for other assets. I’m not entirely sure what FTV you would set for a draft pick but I think 12 FTV is pretty reasonable. Ends up being the FTV of most prospects, for better or for worse. I also think that instead for guys who don’t get drafted, instead of going in some mysterious queue, should get put on free agency for a season.

2. On-Site Hall of Fame + Awards
Not just a Franchise Ball Hall of Fame, but also a team Hall of Fame. I love doing the Hall of Fame, but putting it on a Google Sheet on my franchise page makes it a little hard to access. Putting the Hall of Fame and Awards history on the website (maybe as its own button on the left side of the screen or put it in the “History & Records” section”. It’d make the process a lot easier and also more efficient. About the team Hall of Fame, I think this is something that would be a lot easier to do after Josh follows through on Suggestion 4 in my first article, because then we’d actually know the true stats of these guys.

3. Preserve Scout Ratings For Retired Players
One of the things that annoys me about when players retire is that their scout ratings disappear of the face of the Earth. Unless you were around back in the really old days and have absolutely amazing memory, you’ll have no idea what the scout ratings of Pedro Cervantes (or most anyone, really) were. Scout ratings make this game what it is, so I feel like we should have some way of seeing it, even in retirement.

4. Compensation For Players Lost To Bids
This is decisively the most controversial thing I’ve suggested to date, and I was inspired by some talking on Discord with people. Anyways, I have come to agree with the idea that if your player gets taken by some team, it’s the equivalent to an MLB player deciding to go on FA and signing with the highest bidder. The team that loses that player gets a compensation pick, and so we should have that too. What we should have is a compensation draft for each league, with its own draft pool. It’s only for teams who lost players to bids, and you get 1 pick per player lost. I’m not sure how you’re put the picks in order, but I think if Josh likes it, we’ll find a way.

Here’s some additional ideas that I’ll float so that people might talk more.
More Advanced Fielding Stats
More Complete Transaction History
Weather (Stolen from Diablos)
Player Faces (Stolen from Cobras, I think)
Triple Plays
Sim Engine selects award winners and All Star players for each league and an All-FB Team and Awards after each season

Have at it, folks.
