MADE IT

Joel Boggs, 2B, Year 2
Career Stats (84-103) - 1202-3846 (.313), 238 2B, 26 3B, 308 HR, 762 RBI, 58 SB, .628 SLG
Teams: Cambridge Longballs (84), San Diego Giants (86-87, 90), Baltimore Quarantinos (88), Columbus Average Joes (91), Toronto Blue Jays (92), Portland Cobras (93-95), Chicago WINNERS (96), San Diego Bombers (97-93)
Accolades: 3x World Champion (86, 100-101), All Star (97)

Boggs led a very interesting career. After an unimpressive debut with the Longballs, he went to the Giants, where he shined in 85 and faded off after that before heading over to the Quarantinos for a season, where he did well enough. 2 years and 0 at bats later (which included a season with the Giants), Boggs broke out with the Average Joes, hitting .326 with 27 homers and 10 steals, before fading off again, hitting .190 for the Blue Jays and .278 for the Cobras in 93 before being benched for 2 seasons. However, his career was saved by the WINNERS, as he hit .321 with 22 and 12 in 96 before making All Stars in 97. Boggs had 5 more solid seasons before finally retiring after a disappointing Season 103.

Damario Baca, 3B, Year 3
Career Stats (83-102) - 1303-4243 (.307), 220 2B, 33 3B, 312 HR, 764 RBI, 119 SB, .595 SLG
Teams: SammySplash (83), Peroia Destroyers (84-85), San Diego Giants (86-91), Baltimore Orioles (92-102)
Accolades: 3x World Champion (86, 89, 95)

Baca started out with some random dead team before transitioning to the Destoryers, where he had 2 excellent seasons, so excellent that the Giants took him in during their prime years. Baca was a solid contributor during his time with the Giants but was not a superstar at any point. However, the Orioles gave him a new lease on life. He hit over .300 each year from 92-97 with 130 HR and 55 SB, including .361 with 25 and 11 in the Orioles’ World Championship year in Season 95 to help secure his place in the Hall.

Kurtis Roach, LF
Career Stats (83-104): 1604-5369 (.299), 306 2B, 80 3B, 347 HR, 869 RBI, 156 SB, .579 SLG
Teams: San Diego Giants (83-104)
Accolades: 2x World Champion (86, 89)

The San Diego Giants have been around for 31 seasons at the time of this writing, and Roach played for the team during 22 of them. Roach was never the star of the show for the team (except for 89 and 90, when he hit .367 and .351), but he was consistently a thorn in the oppositions side. He hit double digit homers every season from age 20 to age 39 and stuck through the good, the bad, the ugly, and everything in between with the Giants.

Florinio Cabrera, RF
Career Stats (87-104) - 1277-3886 (.330), 262 2B, 37 3B, 271 HR, 775 RBI, 132 SB, .628 SLG
Teams: Carolina PRpride (87-90), Fort Worth Horned Frogs (91-95), Atlanta THE DUKES (96-104)
Accolades: All Star (95

Somehow he didn’t get more accolades for those 95-96 seasons. I honestly feel bad, cause the guy who got the starting RF spot those years ain’t got nothin on him. 30 HR and 101 RBI in a season? You kidding me? How is that not MVP quality? I don’t know, but anyways, we digress. Cabrera had 5 straight 100-hit seasons from 92-96, and somehow I overlooked him. In spite of me snubbing him, he still had an excellent career and thankfully will be recognized today.

Travis Sisson, RF
Career Stats (83-104) - 1291-4299 (.300), 184 2B, 74 3B, 325 HR, 805 RBI, 118 SB, .605 SLG
Teams: San Diego Giants (83, 86-96, 101, 103-104), Oakland ObZen (84-85), Seattle Cyclones (97-100), Anchorage Aces (102)
Accolades: 2x World Champion (86, 89)

Sisson, who was one of the last 2 guys who played for the Season 87 Championship squad (along with the aforementioned Roach) will join him in the Hall in the same season. Sisson, however, did some more moving around. After 83, he went to ObZen for 2 seasons before his 2nd stint with the Giants, which lasted 11 years. After that, he once again changed teams, this time to Seattle got 4 years. He spent another year in San Diego, went to Anchorage, but returned to San Diego for the final 3 years after determining that Alaska was too cold for him. He was definitely more of a highlight-reel guy that Roach, but he didn’t have the consistency, which made the 2 of them a perfect duo.

Natalio Nazario, SP
Career Pitching Stats (90-103) - 118-31, 1424 IP, 578 ER, 1393 K, 126 BB, 3.65 ERA, 0.992 WHIP
Career Hitting Stats: 2-14 (.143), .143 SLG
Teams: San Diego Giants (90-91, 97), Oakland ObZen (92-96, 98-99), Atlanta Firebirds (100), Yonkers Renegades (101-103)
Accolades: All-Star (91)

After a meh debut with the Giants (8-4, 4.07 ERA), Nazario was a beast from 91-93, recording an amazing 31-1 record with a 2.62 ERA during that stretch between Giants and ObZen. 94-96 were a struggle, but a 1-season return to the Giants served him well, as he went 11-0 again with a 3.03 ERA. Going back to the ObZen yielded a mixed bag /ERAs of 4.43 and 2.00), and besides Season 101, he was never the same. However, his 3-season period of utter dominance proved to be enough for him to make the Hall.

News Conversation
I definitely wouldve loved him staying just another season or two and having like 100 more hits 30 HRs and trying to boost his slg% a bit more to put him for sure in
2 years ago
Yeah thats why I said I wish he wouldve stayed the rest of his career because reds put a 100 mil bid and I lost him then he got let go right away and retired in free agency

I think if he had one more of those .700 SLG 25 HR seasons hed be in for sure

Coney is close. HOF caliber averages, but the voters might not accept the low counting stats. Well see, hes definitely borderline

I hope he makes it too but here was cooney https://www.franchiseball.com/player.php?id=720992 I think if I couldve kept him to finish out his career it would've given him a better chance to make it
2 years ago
Hopefully Cromwell will make it. 305 HRs gives him a good chance I think

I also dont understand why Brito got tested so quickly. OK, he didnt have counting stats, but a .325 AVG and 1000 hits deserves at least more than one shot on the ballot imo
2 years ago
Yeah, so understandable why ppl didnt pick him up in FA, but he probably coulda been more than ur average 70-80-80-60
