Top Ten Teams to Keep an Eye on in Season 103

Top Ten Teams to Keep an Eye on in Season 103

1: Roanoke Colonists - Of course the defending champions must be at the top of the list. Everybody knows they are the team to beat this season, and we’re all wondering whether or not the Colonists can repeat, or at least make another solid run. In all honesty, nobody was really expecting the Colonists to win it all in season 102, however the team came up clutch in the postseason, and are the defending champions nonetheless. Let’s go Colonists!

2: San Diego Bombers - Known as one of the best teams in Franchise Ball history, the Bombers missed a trip to the World Series for the first time in three seasons. It almost seemed strange to not have them there, as everybody in the Franchise Ball World is used to it at this point. One more title would make the Bombers arguably the best team in history - six world series rings is something no team has ever accomplished, and would be quite the accomplishment. Could the Bombers make history here in season 103?

3: Fort Lauderdale Waves - A secondary team for the Spokan Warriors, the Waves made it all the way to the World Series in their inaugural season, and won 50 games, setting a record for rookie teams. Much like the Colonists, the Waves were definitely not expected to make it all the way to the World Series, but the combination of the two surprises led to an amazing series that was very enjoyable for everybody watching. The Waves are looking to have another fantastic season, and fifty more wins is definitely not out of the question.

4: Cincinnati Reds - As of late, the Reds have been very quiet. The Bombers have reigned supreme in the division and the league for the past couple of seasons, and have held the Reds to a few pre-world playoff exits. With this being said, the Reds are due. They are home to some of the best players in the world, and while they still have the mighty Bombers to deal with, it may be time for the Reds to make another run for the World Series.

5: San Diego Giants - Much like the Reds, the Giants have struggled to meet their standards for the last couple of seasons. After winning the Delta Premier (previously called Copper Spring) title in season 100, the Giants had their first sub 40 win season since ‘80, and were forced to participate in the Wild Card tournament. While they won the division again in season 102, the Giants did not make a deep playoff run, and were once again disappointed in their performance as a team. Is this the season the Giants regain their footing and take hold of Delta Premier once again?

6: Cambridge Longballs - The Longballs made history in season 102, becoming the first team to win multiple division titles in the Delta Premier Northeast division, and making it all the way into the World Playoffs. After besting the Aces by only one game to win the division, the Longballs reinforced their pitching for season 103, in hopes of a better run differential and shot at keeping their historic division titles in place.

7: Anchorage Aces - The Aces were majorly disappointed in season 102, as for the first time in franchise history, they did not finish first in their division, as the Longballs (see above) beat them out by one game. The pitching really struggled, and the offense was one of the most unlucky and least clutch in the world. New additions to the rotation and lineup however have the Aces looking like one of the most formidable teams in the game. It will be another historic race between the Aces and the Longballs, as a division win for Anchorage would tie them up with Cambridge for the most division titles in Delta Premier Northeast.

8: Kansas City Royals0 - The Royals0 have quietly been one of the better teams in the world for the last few seasons. While nobody really expects them to make it all the way to the World Series this season, don’t sleep on KCR0. They’re definitely not an easy team to beat, and have had their fair share of upsets in the playoffs. If you’re rooting for an underdog this season, the Royals0 are a GREAT team to cheer on. They’ll always be in the running, quietly knocking the powerhouses out of the way in hopes of making it to the finish line on top.

9: Yonkers Renegades - The Renegades mainly made this list because they have been reinstated in the Ocean Star league, and will create quite the stir with this new development. With a new team in the league, I’m sure some of the Ocean Star powerhouses are not happy that it happened to be one of the better teams in the game. The Renegades are mainly known for their historic ‘98 season, in which they were champions of the Wild Card tournament, and then went on to win it all, sweeping the World Series in three games, completing a feat that would be impossible for almost anybody else.

10: Ann Arbor Wolves - Lastly, but not least, the Ann Arbor Wolves. This is one of the only rather unfamiliar names on this list, however the Wolves lineup has quite a few powerhouse players, and are looking to upset the Peach Sharks in a division race that will likely come down to the last few days. Much like the Royals0, the Wolves would be a GREAT underdog team to root for this season, and one that a lot of people would love to see make a deep playoff run.

Thank you to everybody who took the time to read this, I hope you agree with at least a few of my opinions. If you were not on this list, it doesn’t mean that you are not a good team or that I don’t like you. There are so many more than ten good teams in Franchise Ball, and I could probably list good things about over 100 teams in the game, so no offense if you didn’t make it. Let me know what you think in the comments (but let’s please be respectful and nice), and I hope everybody has a GREAT and super fun season 103!

Peace,
Aces :)
