The Sim Is Messed Up, But For The Better, By Tacoma Storm

Oct 13th 2021 By Alexandria Country Yankees

am pretty sure you all remember when I got banned from article writing. When I said “this game is f’d up” because of my old self jealous that my friend from school was 21-0 at the time (Newark Devils). That article was spent complaining about how the sim was messed up (stronger language was used). However, this article isn’t going to be about that at all. This game is too good to complain about, anyway. This article is going to be about the sim. Not me complaining about it, but just how much this sim has really “messed up” my perspective of baseball altogether. And if you don’t understand, just keep listening.

The 2020 Dodgers, in a special 60-game season, went 43-17. Unless you are Albert Einstein, you probably won’t figure out what baseball site has seasons that long. I had to look it up myself. It is this game. Perfect for comparisons! If that 2020 season was 162 games, the Dodgers would have been on pace to tie the Mariners and Cubs at 116 wins for most of all time. The best record on this site is 56-4, which was originally set by the Annunaki Reds, but have recently been tied by the Deadly sins and the Captains. Those seasons scaled up to 162 games would end 151-11 which is a whopping 35 wins above the MLB record. Just wow. And it doesn’t help that we are pretty much playing teams equivalent to the D-Backs and the Orioles once or twice a day.

My second point is batting average. The last person to join the 400 club was Ted Williams in 1941. In this game, somewhere from 7-15 guys each season are hitting the mark (at least 3 are from Deadly sins and FISH TOWN each). A .300 AVG is expected, anywhere below on most teams gets you shipped out. And team AVG is worse. The highest batting AVG posted by a team in history was .341 by the overrated, horrible, and disgusting Philadelphia Phillies of 1891. That is before the Modern Era, and that was before the 20-win Spiders. Oh, and by the way, the Cotton Pickers went 0-60 in Season 94. How do you not win a single game in a season? I mean he tanked, and props to him for fulfilling a tankers dream. But worse than the Spiders? Really? FB has a great video on that (Foolish Baseball), go check his channel out for semi-funny, semi-cringe content about baseball. Anyway, now back on track. Teams are higher AVG wise than .341 each season. Codfish? FISH TOWN? Deadly sins? Reds? Bombers? Crazy, I know. Also, the worst AVG is .207 by the Washington Nationals in 1884 (not Senators). Now, some teams get below that each season.

Lastly, we got pitching. The absurd number of players that are under 4 ERA are significant. What earns you an all-star nod in the MLB doesn’t even get you considered in FB. The only way you can really get on the ballot is if you have a Cy Young caliber season. The number of starters this season in MLB with an ERA under 4 was 27. In FB last season, it was (get ready for this) - 480. Not 420, not 69 (nice), not 48, not 4.8, 480. That is a whole lot of people.

Now, people might say “well more teams, more players”. But the scale doesn’t make sense. The ratio of players with an ERA under 4 (starters) is 0.9 in MLB. In FB, it is 1.2, which is a lot bigger. Scale up any of these and you get the same results - it's a lot different. This site doesn’t accurately represent normal baseball at all. Key word - normal. This site gives me a whole new view of baseball. To be honest, I like this more than MLB (stat wise and numbers wise). It is a lot more unpredictable. It is pure chaotic at points. But that is what makes this game great.

Hello FB! As we pass midseason, I am officially announcing that your all-star candidates are submitted! Yes, it is a bit early, but I am busy, so this is the latest I can start. School sucks, but I am trying to do as well as I can. Submit your all stars by messaging me the player WITH THE LINK OF THE PLAYER. IF THERE IS NO LINK, THE SUBMISSION WILL NOT BE REVIEWED. I am too busy (lazy) to search up the players. I hope you enjoy this, and the ballot will open on the 21st. The All-Stars will be released on the 27th.By the way, this will be posted in a few days to remind you.

over 90 speed, but i got completely shut down in the playoffs last season (got caught stealing like 10 times in one game) cus the dude kept hitting the anticipate steal button. couldnt get a single stolen base.

This is right on point, This game is super unrealistic but these ridiculous numbers make it fun, like an arcade game! only thing thats bad is what the WINNERS said, the anticipate steal button is ridiculous. Basically my whole dream has

The player performance is definitely unrealistic, but thats OK. To give it perspective, the HR leader during the Covid Szn was Voit who hit 16 I believe. A slightly above average hitter hits that easily
