The Ultimate FB Glitch
12-9 Reds. Game 1. End of the 4th. An amazing offensive battle, with an 8 runs in the bottom of the third, 6 in the top of the 4th, and a 3 run Atwood homer to make it 12-9. In a crazy offensive battle filled with pitching that looks like it was done by a 3 year old, the unthinkable happened. The FB Glitch.
What is the FB Glitch?
It is when a team sees a final score for a few minutes during the game, and then play resumes. An example - Season 91 game 2. The Tacoma Storm played the Seattle Cyclones. In a sad draft story that happened weeks earlier, Fabian Carnes was to go on to mound and pitch against his projected team to draft him. But then, the FB glitch struck. On the home page, it showed the final score, as Carnes would throw a 5-0 shutout. And even though you could change the outcome with a game manager move, the Storm had no game tokens, because they used them all up in a 14-7 win against the Pittsburgh River Sharks (now the Teddy Bearz). So therefore, the Storm lost.
When does the glitch happen?
Nobody precisely knows when, but it usually happens during games against dead teams. When the dead team is up to bad, then the final score is shown. However, when the active team comes up to bat, play resumes. It also happens in the first few games of the season, or during daylight savings.
The weird part about the glitch in the WS game is that everyone saw different scores. Some people saw Stamford win, other saw Reds win. And nobody can agree on the final score that was shown. It will be a tough thing to fix, but if Josh's brilliant mind can wrap his head around the problem, then the sim will fix for good.
