World Classic Update
This will be updated throughout the day, by the way, so we don’t flood the poor article system with articles.
9 A.M.
Canberra Cranberries, 4, San Diego Bombers, 3: Vidal Solis hit 2 solo home runs, including a game-winner in the top of the 9th, and the Berries overcame Ledesma’s 2 homer performance.
Kyoto Kites, 2, St. John’s Codfish, 1: For some odd reason, Fish RF Scully Hit 7 times instead of 4, but it didn’t matter, as Kyoto did the impossible: Shut down a Codfish offense.
New York Mets, 3, Chicago WINNERS, 2, 10 Innings: A hard fought battle saw Chicago tie it up in the 9th, but New York homered in the top of the 10th to seal the deal. Narvaez was 2-4 with 2 HR and 2 RBI to lead New York.
Mayaguez Criollos vs. Aguascalientes blue jays, Not Scheduled: blue jays win off of a forfeit.
2 P.M.
New York Mets, 7, Canberra Cranberries, 4: The Berries were down 7-1 in the 8th. Not much that you can do at that point. It was a very anticlimactic game.
Kyoto Kites, 11, Aguascalientes blue jays, 7: The Kites were up 11-5 at the same time Mets were up 7-1. These were almost identical copies of games, and it’s been reported that millions of viewers for both games got some Zs at the TV.
7 P.M.
New York Mets, 7, Kyoto Kites, 6, 10 Innings: Quite a battle this was, as the Mets came back from down 5-2 to tie in the 9th and win in extras.
