In order to make the All Star ballot, you needed to have to have met 2 of the 4 requirements as a batter...

.355+ AVG
25+ HR
55+ RBI
25+ SB

As a pitcher, you needed a sub-2 ERA, relief pitchers got more slack because they have a tougher job.

I have been thinking about, for future ballots, doing a ballot where you rank all the candidates in order of most to least favorite, like they do for parliamentary elections in the UK. I will test it out on the Hall of Fame Committee over the offseason (on Awards, that is. Hall of Fame voting procedures will remain unchanged).
