About Owner
Hord Baseball LLC is the ownership organization of the Flight. Led by Hornets diehard and Atlanta native Daniel Hord, the goal of the group is to bring a quality baseball product to the Carolinas. Obviously, the dominant Charlotte team in FranchiseBall is the Magic, who are very successful in downtown Charlotte. Thus, Hord built Food Lion Field in Rock Hill, SC (18 miles outside of Charlotte) on the hallowed grounds of the former ballpark of the Charlotte Knights. By pandering to the suburbs of Charlotte and the rural areas of the Carolinas, the Flight have built a loyal and rowdy fanbase. The name Flight is a tribute to the first airplane flight which occured in North Carolina. The ownerships goal is to eventually bring a world championship to the region but they know it will take time and a lot of effort.
